How Dropped It works

Open droppedit.in on the device that has the file. Click Upload It and pick the file — you'll get a 4‑character code and a 4‑digit PIN. Share those with anyone via WhatsApp, SMS, or just read them out loud. The other person opens droppedit.in on their device, types the code and PIN, and the file appears in their browser ready to download. It's a live, real‑time transfer — no upload step, no waiting for the server.

When to use it

It works on any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — on Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone. As long as both devices can open a webpage, they can share files.

What's private

Your file never goes through our server. It streams directly from your browser to the other person's browser using a peer‑to‑peer connection (WebRTC). The server only does introductions — it tells the two browsers how to find each other, then steps aside. We don't have a copy. We can't see what you sent. We don't keep history, accounts, or logs of file names.

The 4‑digit PIN means only the people you share it with can join the room. Close the tab and the connection ends; nobody can fetch the file later.
